I often think what a wonderful husband I would make. I’d bring flowers home on Monday nights, organise impromptu getaways really quite often and sometimes clean out the fridge as a surpise. And I would definitely buy these earrings for my wife. They are quite simply the perfect dress-up earring. Pearls mean they go with everything and they’re classic but I think super cool. There are eight tassel drops which also makes them an acceptably amount octopussy. And we all love an octopus these days. I find it hard to commend these highly enough as there’s a part of me that wants to keep them...but I really must not as I want to go out and re-find more treasures for you...

When I was seven, my mother took me to see Whistle

When I was seven, my mother took me to see Whistlejacket at the National Gallery and I was blown away by its scale (and downright beauty). Last year I took my girls to see it and did the same reveal that my mother had, from a doorway two rooms away…they too were wowed (or at least did an excellent job of pleasing their mother and pretending to be). So of course I couldn’t resist these. Made in the 1960s by Wedgwood they are black and white jasperware (unlike their usual blue and white), mounted in sterling silver and with pleasing oval silver plaques at the end of the chains. I’ve yet to put them online, but you can get have them before I do. £95 including my smart box.

Hearts are funny things. They can so often be not what we want in jewellery, but equally they can be just what we want. And these mid-century little engraved puffy ones are definitely the second type. They are 9ct gold, made in 1962 and I don’t think they could be sweeter. I’m yet to list them online for £175, so if you’d like to get them before I do, they’re yours for £160. I just love ‘em.

SPINEL RING SOLD 🌟 Cocktail of choice? Make mine a ring, please. If you think this is familiar, you’d be right. I sold one similar a few months ago but I loved it so much that I had to find another. This one is even bigger and even more like a huge splash of Ionian sea. What I particularly love about a cocktail ring is that they are rings that girls can buy for themselves without quibble. And why the hell not...they’re fun, they look gorgeous and one like this doesn’t involve a huge financial decision. They say ‘I’m worth it’ much better than a bottle of shampoo. Great, so now that the ring is sorted, make mine a mescal and tonic and don’t be shy with the lime.
