Vintage Marcasite Earrings

These marcasite set earrings scream 1930s glamour. They were made by Ciro of Bond Street, the famous high end costume jeweller, from sparkling cut marcasite stones and set in platinin – a white metal used in the 20s and 30s as it was less expensive than platinum but more valuable, and less likely to tarnish, than silver. The leaf design of the earrings perfectly hugs the earlobe. They have clip on backs but are secure and comfortable to wear.
