Victorian Sapphire & Diamond Ring

A classic Victorian ring with a central sapphire flanked by three old cut diamonds set on either side. The stones are pavé set and the gold foliate setting is so prettily Victorian. The sapphire itself is interesting and is, in fact, parti-colour. The colour comes from a drop of intense blue concentration which permeates the rest of the stone which is colourless. It’s a beautiful conundrum of a corundum and (lesson in physics!) which makes an interesting talking point in itself. The diamonds are bright, with lovely fire contributing to a cracking not so little ring.
