Vintage Silver Miraculous Medal
£75.00
The origins of this medal go back to 1830 when the nun Catherine Loubouré (later Saint Catherine) saw of a vision of the Virgin Mary standing atop a globe, her hands emanating beams of light, while next to her was an M, a cross and two hearts – one with a crown of thorns, and the other with a sword through it. She was instructed by Mary to create a medal with this symbolism to provide protection and grace to those who wore it and since then it has become an important devotional talisman within the Catholic faith. So it’s important from a spiritual point of view but also has a beautiful design, particularly this one. The rays of light and the halo are highlighted in gold giving this medallion extra beauty. It would make a perfect Catholic Christening, First Holy Communion or Confirmation present.
